The Lecavian iFaq:

1) What is the origin of the name Lecavian Kaphguy (Ambassador of Vaknor)?
Lecavian was a loose combination of the French word "Le" and the Latin "Cave" (pronounced cah-way). In my limited understanding of the french language LE means "The". CAVE means beware as in the famous phrase at Pompeii (Cave Canem -- "Beware of the Dog") or as a derivative Caution.  Thus, Lecavian loosely means "The Cautious" though certainly Lecavian is not really all that cautious (though he tends to escape a lot -- "The Lucky" might have been a better name, but Lefortunam doesn't really have a nice sound).  The -ian ending was added because there were a handful of roman emperors that had the ending to their name and gave it a certain (detestable) flair..
Kaphguy is Lecavian's last name.  This is a throwback to a "character" at the Sodexho food services at Marist.  The original name I wanted to use was Stefano Cafeguy but Jay wouldn't allow it.  While Cafeguy sounded not even remotely like a fantasy name.. Kaphguy sort of worked... Though "Lecavian" has sort of taken on a quality such that when people say Lecavian they Don't bother to ask "which one?"
A form of Ambassadorship was earned by Grundel and Lecavian for their adventures in Vaknor... which is where the stupid honorific comes from. Whee~!

2) How much physical damage did Lecavian take in the Poughkeepsie Chronicles portion of the new campaign?
          The answer: 2 points

3) What caused this horrific level of damage?
Lecavian fell out of an inn window in the 2nd or 3rd game of the campaign in his attempt to escape from house arrest for an undisclosed reason.. Grundel Foreskin had more success with the window climbing.  I'm not joking -- this was the only point in the game where Lecavian's hp total fell below maximum. Which isn't to say that his life wasn't in danger due to a host of other different things.

4)  What other sources of damage were there?
While Lecavian didn't take all that much physical damage in the game as a whole, he did take other types of damage.  He was choked out by Elsbeth toward the conclusion of the Poughkeepsie Chronicles.  He also was absorbed by the mask that became Torgo during a freaky nightmare sequence (..and learned not to use that item in that way...).  In another scene, a spell was cast by Reshem at Lecavian's arm, but by the cunning use of a potion (with undisclosed properties) he avoided direct damage (though he would have died in 1d6 rounds or so)..

5) What destructive things is Lecavian credited for?
While experimenting with a relic, he released a plaque of rats on Setile, which resulted indirectly which the toppling of the Seeker tower.  He breached the walls of Malkieri which had stood for a very, very long time.  He separated the "holy" and "magical" parts of the staff dra'durn so that he could wield the magic part without taking damage.  He was indirectly involved with the release of Lord Karkanian.  He was directly involved with destruction of a high Magi.  Lecavian has led and army.  Lecavian is responsible for reviving the god Telegrore.  Torgo's probably depopulated small villages.  And many others.

6)  Who is Torgo?
Torgo is Lecavian's "pet".  He was created by the use of a mithril mask that was taken from the location of the "birthplace" of Cerel.  He basically needed to eat people/creatures to survive and seemed to have some connection with the negative material plane.  He seems to absorb some of the abilities of creatures he absorbs.  His name comes from "Manos the Hands of Fate" -- that alone makes him a horrific monster.

7)  What "Shapes" has Lecavian assumed throughout the adventures?
Lecavian has changed shape so much you'd think he was a shape shifter.  Lecavian is a gnome.  Using an object he found in Agapalok (Lord Karkanians Place) he turned into a lizard that could eat heads (very tasty) this object was stolen.  He also was "nicked" (got to love a double success!) by a werewolf once and could turn voluntarily or involuntarily into a werewolf -- this was removed by Reshem.  While attempting to escape from Malkieri (which wall had been breached by a Lecavian brand fireball) he had to call on divine intervention to survive -- the result was a temporary transformation into a fire elemental.  While battling a High Magi, Lecavian had to use a divine favor and assumed "Super Gnome Form".

8)  What odd skills does Lecavian have that were rarely really used?
Pimping. Drug Dealing. And the mysterious "Drinking" advanced skill.

9) What was the original Elsbeth/Lecavian connection?
Elsbeth was rescued by Lecavian as an infant and brought somewhere to be raised as he couldn't be bothered with it.  Years later, they ended up being in the same social circles.  Elsbeth and Lecavian didn't know how they were connected earlier in their lives and somehow (sort of) got along.  That was until one day... Lecavian was looking for a translation of an ancient tablet he had received as a reward for helping the Queen of Vaknor~! (yeah I know, hard to believe)  He asked Elsbeth to cast tongues on him, and Elsbeth decided to read it herself.  This was a very bad thing for Elsbeth (she became undead).  Later on, Elsbeth found out the truth about Lecavian and blamed him for ruining her entire life!  This resulted in the anticlimactic wizard's duel between them toward the end of the Poughkeepsie Chronicles (resulting in Lecavian being choked out).  Thank god for minor sphere of invulnerability!  Special kudos go to the shell of Krak Ver (Morkir) who drove her off!
