CHI: Chi is the martial artist's proximity to the 'oneness', or unity of the universe. It is their duty to bring the world to harmony, and this is one of their powers. If a martial artist wishes to have CHI they must buy it as one of their FIT/ROG/GAT/WIZ/FAI skill dice. A character must have either 2 single martial art skills or 1 lou (3-way) skill or the master art. Additionally, a character MAY NOT have both CHI and WIZ/GAT because they are opposing arts. CHI is the power to bring the world to balance, to focus, in the almighty unity of 'oneness'. Because magic is a chaotic force that is used by mortals to further their own ends, it corrupts and wrinkles the unity. Thus, CHI was developed to resist this. Because CHI is a major category, it raises at 10X normal level. The skills under it are quite powerful and are treated like spheres and schools as per priests and wizards. Skills include: Disrupt--spend an action roll disrupt as a mage attempts to cast a spell or someone attempts to activate a magic item. The roll of disrupt is subtracted directly from the mage's casting roll or the activation skill of the magic item. If the magic item does not require a skill to activate it, roll off against the item's power rating (potions are usually about 1 or 2d, scrolls 3-4d, wands/staves 5-6d, and weapons about 7d). Psychometabolism--the martial artist's ability to exercise control over their own body. Effects include healing, altering hands into claws, natural camoflage, and other self-affecting effects. Focus--choose a skill/action. Roll Focus. For that many MINUTES (not rounds--rounds are 10s each) you add your focus rating to that skill/action and subtract your focus rating from all other rolls except saving throws. Add your focus dice to any saving throws you make during the duration.
