Whole 'lotta stuff to do
Gray's quest is over and the South Pole is now holy to Venna and her brother Telegrore. After gathering the dead, gathering the re-born and gathering up the items of the fallen, the party prepares to head off to Moray. Reschem had shown up earlier holding a super-duper ruby that held Malcom Zaioniss inside it. Lecavian, Elonora and their new drak friend Enoch agreed to help Reschem get his soul back from the Devil Calios. He gave the gem up to the party and was allowed to stay there protected for as long as he needed to.
Sashraddon knew a jewler in Moray that was able to free Malcom. Gray left the party to release about 200 Vorrexians from a stone prison with Druffen's help (Malcolm's familiar). We got some rest, had a little down time and gathered ourselves up before heading off to Agapellack. There we met up with Jason, spiritualist of the wolf. We asked about curing Vendrill and he told us that even the wolf wasn't that powerful. He also told us just how bad the problems with Geliagh had become. She hates all that she represents. Other spiritualists have tried to reach out to her and help, but they have not returned. Jason is going to try this himself. He bids us farewell, allowing Gray to run with the pack for a little bit. That was kinda cool.
Gray had to leave for a while and trade the items left from the battlefield for items we could make use of. He summoned for one of Barrett Durn's people and went to go shopping. He bought a spell to turn MacCarr back to his old self again, despite the fact that Telegrore got pissed. Gray also bought a potion to help Elonora gain back dexterity that she lost in the battle. With what was left, he still had enough money to buy a helmet that's even better than the one he just lost. Thanks Gray!
While he shopped, Lecavian went off to Gray's settlement to find Hackle and speak with Roger. Elonora, Enoch and Khyros were left in Agapellack to wander about with the multitudes of faceless adventuring parties. It wasn't long before an alarm sounded at the palace and it wasn't even our fault this time! The three party members ran up to the palace gates and were told that we need not worry. Enoch skried on the palace and saw that there were fire-breathing monsters attacking the king within! Jason and the Witch Brahm were summoned by King Scott Wraith to come help him against his onslaught against Frock the Goblin. Frock, it turns out, is a beast master and owns all these hideous beasties trying to kill him. Those include (now get out your monster compendums) a Gorgon, two Su Monsters, a re-generating pyro-hydra (my personal favorit), a Gleb Dur, a fairy dragon and a winged snake. The party managed to get inside, but the queen was still killed as was the king. Thanks to Brahm, the king was brought back to life, but the damage was still extensive and his wife didnt' know she was even dead. Every foe besides the hydra was killed, including Frock.
From there, the party headed of to the temple of the Gods. There, we met back up with BErakJ! Our favorite gnome/dwarf! (Gnorf? Dwome? POIT!) He was busying himself setting the tails of small animals on fire. Also, out of the Haltessan temple came Forgan!! SWEET! I thought he was a tree! As BerakJ came out to speak with us, something went awry (gee....who saw that happening?) and the entire church of Telegrore blew up! Forgan was just too confused to have much of a reaction, so he went to go lay down.
YYYAAAAAY!
MEEERRRRRRY BlOWN-UPS-MASS! Hohoho...
That was our cue as well - back to the Palace, yes? Brahm went to see the king and help bring his wife over to the other side so that she can be brought back to life through the church of Bae-clorr. Brahm tells Scott of his vision about the Elven lands and the adventurers going there. He gets a complete blessing from the king to go and to ask of the masters of each bulding anything they are willing to offer to help him on this quest. Yay toys! The first place that Enoch, Khyros and Elonora go is to the library to learn Elven. It takes them all day to do so, but they learn it - and fluently too! Nice! Gray and Lecavian both come back and update the rest of the party on what they know and vice versa. Gray and his party head back to his settlement to supply themselves and attempt to recruit their best spy Hackle the goblin.
Lecavian goes to talk with Brahm to see if he can contact fallen comerades last seen in Valis (the Elven lands). He manages to find Yona who updates him on who of his party is alive, dead or missing. That could help the party going to help Reschem with their direction. It's also another contact for Brahm. Speaking with ghosts is his speciality and information is what we need. Xia is dead, Yona is dead, Damaclese and MAine are still alive, but last seen captured in Western Vakesh. Maine's wife is dead, but through a locket, they can still communicate. It's a cursed locket though...
As the party settles down for the night, they all agree taht they need about a week to prepare for the Elven quest. Neither Gray nor Forgan are going on that quest, rather working with the king and working on their own skills. However, that night, the king sends a mental message to Gray, Forgan Khyros and Elonora that he needs to see us all immediately. Hmmm...Ok! We get to the battlefield where the army is and find the king in his tent. He's writing stuff down and welcomes us in. He figured out from the book of the God of Creation that the chains taht bind the dark conjoined are the same chains created for Cain to bind Haltessa's beast to the earth. Cain was re-born as Carey! If we can get Carey, he can control the chains and in turn, he can control the dark conjoined...at least in theory. But Carey was kidnapped. How are we ever going to find him? We dont' even know WHO kidnapped him! Maybe the airship of misfits might hold some clue. Braderick the dwarf and Nogrul, his mage were actually hired by the army after they got their ship back from its mutany.
Before we take our leave of the king, we tell him about his son Reschem in the South Pole. He immediately heads there to see him and Gray follows. He forgives his son for all that he has done and will no doubtedly do anything he could for him.
Two hours later, they return to camp and we go back to Gray's settlement. We contact Roger to use his crystal ball. We call up Braderick and Nogrul and ask them about what they know. They said that one of their leads was this snake woman who kidnapped him in the first place. Great! We already have a few of her items and she's dead - would that stuff help? Forgan , Vorren and Gray (and maybe Khyros) are teleported by Roger and board the ship. After getting re-aquainted and noticing the military upgrades they were given, they get down to business and use snake-bitches stuff to try to track where she's been. Nogrul macically tracks her all the way to Malkyrie before she went to the south pole. Chances are, Carey is still there. We just have to get in, get him out safely enough and leave....right?
While these guys are doing that, the other party (Elonora, Brahm, Enoch, Lecavian and maybe Khyros and Hackle) will be preparing for the Elves. They are a secretive society that hates outsiders and will not travel. Nobody knows their customs and they turn their back s on anyone who leaves the elven lands. We have no idea what we're walking into, so we better tread carefully. Should we make it to Calios, we'll do our best to free Reschem's soul, free Tarren's soul and help un-corrupt Roberta's soul. We'll also make it a point to find Maine and Damaclese and help them out of there, hopefully with Maine's daughter and any other remaining party members of theirs. Calios is the one rallying the Elves to go "cleanse" the world of the un-pure races and we need to stop that invasion before it gets any more heated or really gets underway.
...
but we'll have to see what happens in the NEXT EXCITING ADVENTURE of JAYSTORM!!!!!
