The Hollow Warrior
The latest in the Jaystorm saga
The Legend of the Hollow Warrior is one of old. It says that a chosen individual who willingly offers his body will become a vessel for the spirit of the Great Dragon and will unite man and dragon on Earth.
As of late, there has been an abomination that has dragons all over the globe believing that this legendary Hollow Warrior walks the Earth. A Maiirage, blessed by the spirit of all dragons had taken place. There was no love between husband and wife and the two separated. Though they had no feelings before, the blessing from the Dragon bonded their souls. They felt pain and longing that grew with distance. The Husband, Justin, found comfort in a Gypsy companion named Ophelia. The Wife, Randi, found nothing but anger and frustration. That anger took hold of her and her rage itself called out for release. The one who answered was the Great Dragon spirit. It allowed her the form and the abilities of a dragon and walled away her emotions. Unfortunately, this Great Dragon spirit had been consumed by the evil God, Tohorne. Every time Randi called upon its powers, she drew in more of Tohorne's dark power and influence. Gray Tarrenson, Paladin of Venna, called out to his Goddess, the Goddess of life and divinely allowed Randi to feel emotion once again. Then, with the intervention of spirits of love itself, Randi was allowed the feeling of love and was calmed for a time. By denying the use of her dragon abilities and form, Tohorne was kept at bay. Still, Dragons had seen her and come to follow her to the end. She was their Hollow Warrior and they would defend and follow her. They were told that she was not the one they sought, though some do not listen still.
Justin was not aware of these blessings bestowed upon him by the Dragon spirit and did not call upon them. Since he felt strongly for Ophelia, the Dragon spirit blessed her as well, though neither of them knew. Both of them were consumed with greed, lust and vanity already and their reputations became known. One fateful night, a paladin of Tohorne offered them riches and material wealth in exchange for a glimpse of their abilities. Since they knew nothing of them, he instructed them on how to call out for these power, how to give themselves over to their master, Tohorne in excange for everything they possibly ever desired. Ophelia was first to give into her greed and Justin soon followed. They each grew to twice the size that Randi had been in her Dragon form. Though they have not assumed these forms for long, their power and reknown is very great. When word spreads to other Dragons, the problem will grow ever great and Tohorne will find himself closer and closer to this world ad they call upon him for more power.
