Forgan's quest...hopefully one with a happy ending
Last time, the party went on a short mission and found the General Balan Sheiss (Carey Billingsford) who was kidnapped by snake bitch. He was in Malkyrie, the Esper fortress, trying to get the Espers and the Ishwar to work together and strengthen the fort and it's defenses. We needed him because he might be needed to help control the chains that bind the dark conjoined. While on the elven airship sent to retrieve the General, Forgan was given a vision.
The vision was of the scene described in the book written by the God of Creation. He was in a field where he saw a pregnant woman lying down (Haltessa) and nearby, wearing furs, he saw a man and a woman (Cain and Hale). The woman was making advances on the man and he was trying to push her away. Soon enough, there was a giant rumbling and the sky turned dark and the fields were swallowed in flame as Haltessa gave birth to the beast. This thing was SCALE 6! Holy POOP!...and I do mean holy! At this point, Cain asked for the chains to bind the monster. Light poured from the sky and the light itself became the chains. Cain struggled with the monster and grew tired after a while. Then singing could be heard in dragon. That was Hale soothing the savage beast. Cain then was able (HA! Cain was Able!...get it?) to overcome the multi-headed destruction-bound offspring of Haltessa. But the chains were broken at that point. The god of Creation told Cain that he'd make a new set of chains that would test the relationship between man and woman - this first impression wasn't too great. If the two wearing the chains loved eachother, humanity would prosper in peace. If they were greedy, dark and lustful, then armageddon would follow. Then Hale took the Dragon Lords from the beast and held them close. The god of Creation told her that through this good deed, she redeemed herself a little. But if she ever took part in the act she did today (sex) then her soul would lie forever in torment right where he lay so he could watch her agony for all time. How nice. The firey field was then covered over in snow and ice and a great wind overcame the whole place. It was a cursed storm that would forever rage there - the rage of the beast buried there. Then Forgan woke up. He still had a rain stick in his hands given to him in the vision. Hmmm...
After consulting a few people on the ship, Forgan was still not sure what he needed to do. Naturally, the party went to go ask for Forlumb's advice. He couldn't help them out, but instead needed Gray's help back in Moray to protect his family. After Gray left, Forgan, Yolanda, Khyros, Balan and Vorren all went up to the north Pole. Why? That is where they think the monster is buried and the cahins that bound it. Maybe if we get those chains, we can lasso the dark conjoined. In the North pole, once we finally found the place we needed to be, more voices came to Forgan telling him that "He seeks his equal, just as the God of Creation did". Very Odd. That sounds like a description of Reoppe Eatus. When did he come into this equasion? Anyway, they finally find the chains, but only Forgan can see them. Crap. Looking for somewhere to forge them, Forgan accidentally walked into an eye socket of one of the skulls of Haltessa's Beast child! EEK! It overwhelmed him and he passed out. We then got the hell out of there.
Next, we moved onto Vok'Norr - they must have a cool and holy forge that can put these things together. Well, we tried the Vorrexian forge place. No luck there. Then we went through the King asking to use his almighty private forge. That turned out to be super holy to Telegrore (he IS the Fire god afterall) and we couldn't use it and they couldn't see the chains to try to forge them. Great. Now where? Maybe we can go to Agapellack. They have all sorts of cool magic stuff there and they also have a Haltessan church and a church to the God of Creation that might be able to at least see the chains. Well, as for the magic stuff, Khyros and Vorren have to get permission from the King to take or buy any magic items since they are still building up the school and there is no magic shoppe. There's abotu a 10 hour wait to see the king. Lovely. Khyros manages to cut ahead and cut out 7 hours of their wait. The king writes them a note allowing them access to whatever the head of the Magic school can offer. That's good! In the meantime, Forgan, Carey and Yolanda go to the churches. Forgan makes a big scene to get their attention and it doesn't really amount to much since they can't see the chains and dont' even know the whole story he's talking about. The Haltessans arent' much help either. OK. Now what? Vorren and Khyros return with a teleportation scroll and our next travel is to the kingdom of Moray where maybe we can get some help from Daria (Telepath #1).
Meanwhile, In Moray, Gray had been helping protect the royal family. Forlumb suspected that he would be assaulted on two fronts and wanted Gray to be there to help. Michael Crane of Forrestral was visiting and very Ill. Now it was widely known that Forrestral wasnt' fond of Moray, but Mr. Crane and his family sided with the King and allied himself with Moray. Today he is here with an illness of an unknown nature. Gray used the abilities of his ring to see that it was Kylos that caused it. The queen called one of her Fairy soldiers to come help heal him. For safety, she created an illusion around him so that he thought everyone was in the room - we didnt' want to endager the royal family in case it was a Kylos bomb placed upon him. It wasn't, thankfully. Just then, the queen received word that there were assaults outside the palace but they were being taken care of.
That evening, their was a conference with neighboring diplomats in the palace dining room. Gray was on high alert. A servant who had attented to him at the table had left a note under his napkin. The seal on the envelope was unknown to him. The queen put the guards on high alert and they chased down the servant they suspected. After a huge chase, they caught up with him and knocked him out cold. Gray then opened the letter and saw that it wasn't anything threatening at all. It was from Ragnar, Warrior of the North shrine and head knight of Gray's secret Vennan Order. The messenger was from him. Oops! False alarm! But it was enough distraction to get Gray away from the Royal Family long enough for the villain to do his thing. A rumbling booming sound erupted from the lower levels of the palace and we knew there was trouble. By this time, the party had joined back together and pooled their efforts. The dining room was sealed off and from within could be heard sounds of anguish and destruction. Burning sounds and gurgling, splurting bloody sounds. Then the sound of a horse whinney and a dog yelp...Horace and Forlumb's steed? Forlumb must be here! Sure enough, when we opened the door there he was in the middle of the fire with a gaping chest wound. Sashraddon was alright and so was the queen thankfully, but there were lots of dead guards and blood everywhere. Who did this?! It was none other than their welcomed guest Michael Crane of Forrestral - who was really a ZAIRD!!! *dun dun DUN* We saw him there with his human disguise melting off of him and the zaird appearance underneath and it was frightening. Thankfully, Forgan called out to Venna asking for help and he slew the zaird! WOOT! Then the rescue efforts came into play. The royal family and the diplomats were saved and healed just before the room collapsed in on itself and completely dissappeared. The top floor came crashing into the basement, but nobody was killed from that. Professor Horace (the dog) was saved too! Forlumb told Gray hurriedly that Reoppe was at the battle of Ocale and had attacked the Dark conjoined and damaged the chains. They retreated and we must find them!... and then he promptly left to fight once again in Ocale.
Just then, a rumbling came from the earth itself and an ever loudening moan seemed to grow closer. CRAP! The beast had been risen by Justin and Ophelia's chains! That's what Reoppe was hoping for so that he could find his equal in battle and that's probably where he is now! AAAH! What to do? What to do? The chains are still invisible to everyone but Forgan and still un-fixable by any previously thought means. Carey can feel their warmth and so can Gray, but not Khyros or Yolanda. Why? What makes them different? Then they asked random guards if they can feel it. It turns out the pattern was that only those who love someone can feel the chains. Forgan and Gray took the chains to Sashraddon - the Gray could see them! Sashra could too! They picked them up and the chain mended itself! HUZZA!!!! Now to use them to wrangle that God Beast!
Everyone in the party except Khyros uses out last teleportation to get to the North Pole where the storm is raging more fierce than ever. The temperature is about -260!! We WILL die in seconds! Luckily Forgan is an Ice drak. He throuws the chains toward the beast and they manage to lasso it. He wrestles with the thing and manages to get it to the ground while Reoppe is fighting it. Now this monster is BIGGER than mount everest! Each of its 10 heads are scale 4 - the size of the Dark Conjoined! YIKES! Gray, Vorren and Carey fly through the winds uncontrollably and Yolanda is buried under some snow. Khyros shows up very soon afterwards with another scroll to get us home. The battle eventually ends with Reoppe victorious and the God Monster dead. But where's carey? We find him buried in the snow and without his sword. That' bad. The sword keeps him alive and the Espers need him in Malkyrie.
We teleport everyone back to Gray's settlement so we dont' freeze to death and try to figure out how to get his sword back. Luckily we think of contacting Ras Mar. He's busy, but Sylph is available and can help! She shows up, fixes his broken off frost-bitten parts and then goes to get the sword. She actually comes back, looking just like Carey with the sword - she tricked it! HA! Once it's in his hand, Brahm (who is there along with ALL the PCs) can see the spirit of a woman encompassing Carey. He tells Carey about it and then speaks with the spirit herself. He points out that Carey's soul is growing smaller and smaller. The spirit is there to help him do what he needs to because she loves him SO deeply. She was from one of his past lives but doesn't want him to know who she is - he might not remember her as fondly and that would break her heart. The conversation ends and Carey comes to again. We set up a teleport for him and he is sent again back on his way to Malkyrie.

This time around, we get to choose what happens in the NEXT EXCITING ADVENTURE of JAYSTORM!!!!!
