Cisco's Game
Jaystormers in College

In late fall 2000, Cisco started tossing around the idea of starting a Fantasy game.  Around that time, he started looking for the type of game that the players would like to play.  The concept of a light-hearted fantasy game was examined.  At some point, someone mentioned that it would be interesting to play a fantasy game ala Harry Potter, where the main characters were members of a magic school.

Oddly enough, Cisco had such a locale (The Auger)  in an old roleplaying game he used to run -- What emerged out of this amalgam of ideas was this game.

What has developed is a very strange game indeed.  For starters, because the characters are students in the school of magic, the geographic location is mostly static.  Due to this logistical peculiarity -- the cast of characters is huge.  Also, unlike common roleplaying games where a large percentage of villians eventually meet their demise, for the most part characters only cycle-out when they graduate.

Through the 6 months of playing, the concept of having a humorous style of play sort of went out the window.  The players increasingly got involved in plots that were probably just a bit outside the realms of things which should have concerned them.  They took increasing steps away from being average to being heroic.

(Due to depth of the story and a turn of events that took place in the game, I will not try to record the story up to this point.  Here is the PC list though, which hint at some of the things that are going on)

Player Characters

Ed Lars (Lisboa) - Ed was a ratling with a very, very soiled past.  Rumored to be a sorceror (controller of evil spirits), Ed had a real hard time adapting to life at the school of magic.  Every time a dead body showed up on campus, he was somehow implicated in the murder.  Despite being horribly unpopular within the general populous of the School, Ed was the Warlord of House Mongoose and his leadership led to an impressive number of wins for his house.  Ed was also developing impressive skills with the sword and staff.  He is believe to have killed Mojo. Forntunately for him, everyone thinks he is dead.

Mojo Razeus (Jomo) - Mojo was the bastard son of a gnome noblewoman.  He was possibility the most promising rising star of his generation.  With his deft skill with the mandolin, he carved himself a real nitch in his environment and was elected to the highest leadership role in his house, Chancellor.  He also had a strange skill at being able to dig up information in the library quickly and accurately. He was rumored to have luminesci powers (supernatural pseudo-esp skill).  To his great dismay, everyone thinks he's dead.

Elijah Vanauken (Lisboa) - Elijah Vanauken appears to be a human with a clean slate history.  One of his arms was seared by hellfire and has taken on lich-like qualities.  Elijah was allowed to join the Auger directly into the third semester of his first year, having proved to know enough to pass the second semester finals.  He was then hastily elected Warlord of house Mongoose.  He is a promising student and could be one of the brightest stars of his class.

Razeus Quartallion (Jomo) - Razeus Quartallion is a commoner gnome with a clean slate history.  Strangely he possesses magic items that have not been seen in centuries.  Other items he possesses were rumored to have belonged to Mojo Razeus.  He also started schooling at the auger in the third semester of his first year.  He was quickly elected to Chancellor of House Mongoose.  His skill with the mandolin easily surpasses Mojo's.
